St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf is a leader in providing listening and spoken language services to children and families. We collaborate with local schools, state agencies, and both local and national organizations to offer highly specialized services to Missouri families.

SJI offers in-home early intervention Listening and Spoken Language services through Missouri First Steps, available in person or via iHear tele-practice.

SJI provides Listening and Spoken Language intervention during our half day toddler program Monday-Friday.

SJI offers auditory-verbal education through our half-day preschool.

Audiology (0-3 years)
Our pediatric on-site audiology clinic serves children birth to 3 years through MO First Steps.

SJI Mainstream Specialists train and support professionals working with students using hearing technology and spoken language. They assess student needs, develop goals, and provide services for auditory, social, self-advocacy, and academic skills. These services are available both in person and via iHear tele-practice.
