  • Opening the first school for the deaf west of the Mississippi.
  • Pioneering techniques of spoken language for children with hearing loss.
  • Developing a specialized curriculum for children with cochlear implants.
  • Creating the Molloy Family Center to serve infants and children with hearing loss through early intervention, as newborn screening became available.
  • Establishing infant services in the natural environment of the child’s home, confirming the success of early intervention.
  • Pioneering one of the first deaf education tele-practices, iHear.
  • Leading more than 25,000 iHear sessions with children with hearing loss, their families, and their schools.
  • Launching a Listening and Spoken Language Advancement initiative to ensure quality, track child and provider outcomes, and support listening and spoken language certification.
